I bought this Directv Satellite Receiver instead of "leasing" one from Directv. I was not charged any extra fees by Directv, as I have been a good customer for 15 years, nor did I have to extend my contract w/Directv. Factory Remanufactured DISH Network VIP211k HD Receiver

I bought this receiver 18 months ago and have had no problems with it. Easy set-up. Great picture and improved sound compared to the non-HD unit supplied by Dish Network when I subscribed years ago. I like the fact that one can add an external hard drive to make this a DVR receiver, but I haven't done that yet. Some have complained about still having to pay $7 a month to Dish, just as they would if they got a "free" unit from the network. I haven't looked at my bill, and I may also be paying the $7.
